Tell Us About Your Church, Your Surrounding Community, and Pastor

Orchard Church began in 2005 with a few faithful people in a tiny apartment in Denver, Colorado, one of the most unchurched parts of the country, and has now grown into a thriving church community impacting thousands each week—locally and globally. Orchard has over 3,000 people gathering in-person for its weekly services across three different locations in Colorado, including: Brighton, Green Valley Ranch in Denver, and our Spanish-speaking location, Iglesia Orchard in Thornton.

Online, Orchard sees people joining throughout North America and from around the world. In the past two years alone, Orchard has seen over 11,000 decisions for Christ and 1,258 baptisms, and since we started, Orchard has experienced a consistent growth rate of 15-20% each year. We are about building God’s Kingdom, not our own and we do this through various community and outreach events like At the Movies and Night to Shine, a royal, red-carpet,

prom night experience to share God’s love for those in the community with special needs and their families. As part of building God’s Kingdom, Orchard also has 10 local ministry partners, like the Denver Rescue Mission, as well as mission partners around the world, like Global Surge in Southeast Asia, Manna Worldwide, and Ireland for Jesus. In addition, Orchard fully funds feeding centers and orphanages in the Philippines and Guatemala. Orchard Church exists as a multiethnic, multigenerational, non-denominational church with the vision to create a movement of Colorado churches that help the unchurched find and follow Jesus—both locally and around the world.

Doug Dameron has served in full-time ministry for more than 35 years, including roles as student pastor, worship pastor, assistant pastor, and lead pastor. In the summer of 2005, Doug and his family moved to Denver, Colorado, to plant Orchard Church.

From 2007 to 2017, Orchard met in a local high school, growing to more than 1,800 in weekly attendance. In 2014, the church purchased 38 acres adjacent to the school, and in November 2017, they moved into a newly completed 52,000-square-foot facility. Today, Orchard Church averages over 3,000 in-person attendees each week and celebrates more than 600 baptisms annually. Now a multi-site church with 3 locations and a Spanish Campus.

Doug is also a ministry consultant for The Untuck Group, helping churches around the world be more effective in their mission. Doug and his wife, Shellie, were married in 1992 and have two adult children, Caleb and Katelyn, and are proud grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters, Shiloh and Summit.

What Does Orchard Do Really Well?

20th Anniversary Celebration

With the mission of "people helping people find and follow Jesus", everything Orchard does strives to fulfill this mission. As such, since 2005, God has used Orchard to see over 32,000 people say “Yes” to Jesus in its 20-year history. In every service —regardless of the message or special emphasis that day— Orchard always gives those attending in-person and online an opportunity to say “Yes” to Jesus, along with a way of coming alongside them. To help with that, Orchard created a system to help those individuals new to the faith. Since the implementation of this system two years ago, we’ve helped 2,254 people who said “Yes” to Jesus with videos and digital resources, as well as given them the opportunity to connect in-person with a pastor for further spiritual support.

In addition, Orchard is all about people connecting and taking next steps. As part of our discipleship pathway strategy, Orchard seeks to lead people in taking a next step by either joining a small group or serving team. One way we do this is by having guests attend a class where they learn about Orchard and can then express interest in one or both of these next steps. After starting a 15-minute Next Steps Experience that happens after each service, Orchard saw 174% attendance increase to this class, and from this, a 70% increase in first time volunteers and a 101% increase in small groups.

How Are You Seeing God At Work?

This past August, Orchard wrapped up its annual At The Movies (ATM), a strategic 5-week series designed to not only deal with the typical slump that churches experience with lower attendance in the summer, but to also provide a series aimed at attracting those who have either never attended church or those in the community who rarely do. During ATM, Orchard features messages based on popular movies to illustrate passages or principles found in the Bible. In addition, each of our locations’ lobbies are decorated to coincide with the last movie and message in the series. This year’s ATM theme was The Lion King and we saw record-breaking attendance with increases at all of our locations. In addition to the 586 volunteers who served in preparation for and during the 5-week series, Orchard had 305 first-time guests, and 121 attend the 15-minute after-service Next Steps Experience. Even more exciting was seeing 786 people say “Yes” to Jesus over the course of ATM and out of that experiencing 185 people go public with their faith through baptism!

Along with ATM and celebrating our 20th Anniversary, through God’s faithfulness, Orchard was able to donate $100,000 in start-up funds to plant a new church in Belfast.  This church has a coffee shop and clothing store, and we were able to send 360 boxes of clothing to reach those in that Irish community.  Thanks to all of you who participated in this clothes collection this past Fall!  This was part of Ireland for Jesus’s work to plant 50 new churches to reach all of Ireland for Jesus in the coming years.

How Can CRM Partner Churches Pray For Orchard Church?

Please pray that God uses Orchard to see more and more people find and follow Jesus this Christmas season. Especially for those in Denver in the Green Valley Ranch community.

Please pray for one of our mission’s partners, Ireland for Jesus, as they launch a new church location in Belfast.

Please pray as we prepare to host Night to Shine in February 2026 in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation. Registration is already full, but there are still many in the special needs community on a waiting list. Please pray for more buddies, volunteers who are paired with each guest and who give attendees' parents and caregivers a well-deserved break for the evening.

Do You Have Any Special Events Coming Up?

Orchard will be hosting 11 Candlelight Christmas services spread out between two days, Sunday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 24, and across all three of our locations.  Last year, we saw over 6,300 in attendance to these Christmas services with 325 people who said “Yes” to Jesus.
